19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player secured his first championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.
Victory also signifies he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.
His defensive strategy and regular reactions on court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.
Moutet saved four early-game break points in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
